Neighbourhood Watch

Hi everyone,

I hope you are all keeping safe and well.

I’d like to make you all aware of a new system Neighbourhood Watch are launching named StreetSafe. It is a website for the local community to report things that are not an act of crime, but that make you feel unsafe or uncomfortable. This could be things such as road safety, insufficient street lighting, vandalism, signs of drug use and so on. The website will ask you to complete a short questionnaire detailing the issue, and this is completely anonymous. Once reported, these incidents are passed onto the police and local authorities for them to look into further. The police and local authority will see reported issues displayed as pinpoints on a map of the area, and so can see at a glance, troublesome areas and repeatedly reported issues. This will help to build up a picture illustrating changes that need to be made, or things that need to be put in place for the benefit of our local community.

The website is now live so you can make use of it immediately, simply search for ‘StreetSafe’ online and this will take you to the relevant page on the Police.uk website. If you have any questions, or would like any more information please do not hesitate to get in touch with me.

Best wishes

Megan Venn
